Westminster Abbey Shop: Where It Is, Hours and Online

Updated October 27, 2026

Short answer: the Westminster Abbey shop is on Broad Sanctuary, London SW1P 3JS, beside the visitor exit at the West Towers. It is open from 9:15am to 6:30pm on days the Abbey is open to visitors and on Sundays. It sells souvenirs, books, jewellery, homeware and Christmas decorations, and the Abbey also runs an online shop at shop.westminster-abbey.org.

Where is the shop, and when is it open?

The main shop is on Broad Sanctuary, at the west end of the Abbey. The Abbey says you reach it from outside, at the West Towers visitor exit, so most people walk into it at the end of their visit.

The shop is about a 4-minute walk from Westminster Underground station (Jubilee, District and Circle lines), roughly 300 metres from the Abbey. The shop stays open after the church closes to sightseers. The Abbey’s last admission is 3:30pm on weekdays, so you have time to come back to the shop later in the day.

What does the Abbey shop sell?

The Abbey describes the range as “souvenirs inspired by the life, history and architecture of Westminster Abbey”. On the online shop on 27 October 2026, the ranges included:

  • Books and stationery: the Book of Common Prayer, leather bookmarks and the Abbey’s souvenir guidebook.
  • Jewellery: sterling silver and pearl initial necklaces, cross necklaces and a silver and enamel Cosmati pavement necklace.
  • Faith items: rosaries and nativity sets.
  • Homeware and accessories: mugs, cushions, tote bags, umbrellas, gloves and a Cosmati pavement coaster.
  • Christmas decorations, in their own section.

Several designs borrow from the building. The Cosmati range, for example, takes its pattern from the 13th-century mosaic floor in front of the High Altar; read the story in our Cosmati pavement guide.

Other items pick up the gardens and the services. The online shop lists Westminster Abbey garden notecards, a nod to College Garden, which the Abbey calls the oldest cultivated garden in England. The Book of Common Prayer it sells is the same prayer book that shapes Evensong in the Abbey, so it makes a fitting souvenir if you attend a service; our Evensong guide explains the service.

The online shop

The Abbey’s online shop is at shop.westminster-abbey.org. Its delivery terms on 27 October 2026 were:

  • Free UK delivery on orders of £50 or more.
  • Free UK and US returns.
  • Duties, taxes and tariffs paid for you, which matters if you order from outside the UK.
  • Click and collect is available.

Buying online is also the easy way to get a souvenir guidebook before you travel, to read up on what you will see.

Visiting the shop without a ticket

The shop is outside the paid route, reached from Broad Sanctuary, and it opens on Sundays, when the Abbey holds services only and sells no sightseeing tickets. The Abbey’s pages do not set any ticket rule for the shop.

If you are in the middle of your visit and want to step out to the shop, speak to an Abbey Marshal first. Abbey tickets are single entry, so once you leave, you may not get back in on the same ticket.

The Abbey itself costs £32 for adults on its own site (about $43). If you plan to visit and then shop, the Westminster Abbey entrance ticket we list is the Abbey’s own ticket at $43, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Check Westminster Abbey opening hours for the day you plan to go.
