- DurationAbout 2 hours
- Starting timesTimed slots from 9:30am; last admission 3:30pm (3:00pm on Saturdays)
- LanguagesMultimedia guide in 14 languages
The Westminster Abbey entrance ticket costs $43 per person and gets you a timed entry slot to the Abbey plus the multimedia guide, which the Abbey offers in 14 languages. The listing names Westminster Abbey itself as the provider, and the price matches the Abbey's own £32 adult fare. You walk the visitor route at your own pace: the nave, the Coronation Chair, the royal tombs, Poets' Corner and the Cloisters. Plan on about 2 hours. It is not a skip-the-line ticket, so expect a security queue at the North Door. Unlike tickets bought on the Abbey's website, this one can be cancelled free up to 24 hours ahead.

What the ticket gets you
The ticket is one timed entry to the Abbey's sightseeing route plus a multimedia guide for each visitor. The route takes in the nave, the Quire, the Coronation Chair, the royal tombs in the Lady Chapel, Poets' Corner, and the Cloisters, Chapter House and Pyx Chamber, which the Abbey lists under general admission. The guide's commentary comes in 14 languages, from English and Spanish to Japanese, Chinese and Arabic, and there is an audio-described version and a British Sign Language version.
How entry works on the day
Go to the North Door on Parliament Square and show the voucher at the ticket office on the North Green. Every door has walk-through security and bag checks, and this ticket does not skip that line: the listing itself warns there may be a long queue. Arrive a little before your slot. Bags larger than 40 x 30 x 20 cm are not allowed and there is no left luggage, so leave suitcases at your hotel or at Victoria or Charing Cross station.
What costs extra
Two things are not in the ticket. The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries, 108 steps or a lift above the floor, need a separate timed ticket at £5 for adults, free for 17 and under; buy it with your Abbey ticket. A verger-led tour, about 90 minutes and into areas such as the Shrine of St Edward the Confessor, costs £10 on top and can only be booked at the Abbey on arrival. If you want a guide from the start, look at the skip-the-line guided tour.
Price against the Abbey's own ticket
The price is the same: the Abbey charges £32 for an adult, about $43, on its own website, with no booking fee. The difference is the terms. Tickets bought from the Abbey are non-refundable and can be upgraded to an annual pass; this listing has free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead but cannot be upgraded. Reduced fares (£29 for 65+ and students, £14 for children 6 to 17, under-6s free) are on the Abbey's site.
When to book a slot
The quietest time, according to the Abbey, is a weekday morning, especially Tuesday to Thursday soon after the 9:30am opening. Late mornings, early afternoons, Saturdays and school holidays are the busiest. The Abbey is closed to sightseeing on Sundays and sometimes closes at short notice for services; if a closure hits your booking, the listing says you get a full refund.
