Adult price, online and on the day
The adult price is £32, about $43, whether you book on the Abbey's website or buy one of the few tickets sold on the door; the Abbey lists no separate door price and charges no booking fee. Tickets bought from the Abbey are non-refundable and non-transferable. The same entry is sold on GetYourGuide for $43 with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead: see the entrance ticket. There is no free sightseeing day.
Reductions: children, students, seniors, families and disabled visitors
The Abbey's reduced fares are generous for small families. A family ticket of one adult and one child costs £32, the same as an adult alone.

What is free
Worship is free. Everyone is welcome at the Abbey's daily services, including Evensong, with no ticket; you enter by the Great West Door and take part in the service rather than tour the building. Individual prayer is also welcome during opening hours. The Evensong guide explains how it works, and is Westminster Abbey free? covers the limits.
Add-ons: the Galleries and verger tours
Two extras are not in the standard ticket. The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries need a separate timed ticket at £5 for adults, free for 17 and under, bought with your Abbey ticket. A verger-led tour of about 90 minutes costs £10 on top of admission and is booked only on arrival at the Abbey. Annual pass: an adult ticket bought on the Abbey's site can be upgraded free to cover three visits in a year; third-party tickets cannot.
2-for-1 and pass options
National Rail's 2-for-1 offer gives a second adult free, plus a free child per adult, on full-price tickets bought on the door with a valid rail ticket, subject to capacity. Go City pass holders enter by pre-booking in the Go City app; the London Explorer Pass from $87 counts the Abbey as one of its credits and does not include the Galleries.
A realistic total for a family
Two adults and two children aged 6 to 17 pay £32 + £32 + £14 + £14 = £92, about $123, at the Abbey's prices. Booked as two family tickets of one adult and one child each, the same group pays £64, about $85. Add £5 per adult for the Galleries (children free there).
